Harmonize for Hunger was a success! Here's what KPA music teacher and Harmonize for Hunger event organizer, DeLeisha Sheppard, had to say about the event:

"WE HAVE A NEW RECORD!!!!! Way to go KINGDOM SINGERS, WARRIOR PRAISE and BEST FRIENDS! We raised $2500 for the SPFB!! What a blessing this will be for our Lubbock community!! I could not be more proud of these students!! Thank you to EVERYONE who supported and encouraged these kiddos AND who donated! We are GRATEFUL for you!"

Pre-k Fun!! ❤️

Turkeys in Disguise!

Kindergarteners had fun disguising turkeys so that they would not be eaten at Thanksgiving!

Kindergarteners and their families took a field trip the FiberMax Agricultural Museum to enhance their thematic unit on farming and harvest.  They learned so much about the amazing cotton farming industry and culture of the Lubbock area. A huge thank you to the generous donor who covered the cost of admission.

First grade students enjoyed a field trip to Lubbock Lake Historical Landmark to begin their history unit on Native Americans.

The First Graders ended the history unit with the making of Native American dwelling such as the long house, teepee and igloo. The students and their families did an amazing job on these dwellings!

3rd grade experimented and made their own “Henry the Navigator” compass in History this week. They used water, a needle, paper and a magnet to create their compass.

3rd grader Fallon brought in a speaker that she built at home with her dad and sister. She showed her class how it worked and told them about the process of building it. What a great connection to their current “Matter and Sound” unit in Science!

Upper School News

Last Wednesday, the National Honors Society arranged for our juniors and seniors to bring and stuff stockings for the kids currently living at Family Promise of Lubbock. They also had the opportunity to hear from some board members, staff and also a former Family Promise kid who is now attending Texas Tech.

When you find out school has been cancelled! Send us your pics of how you spent your bonus day! You can email them to josteen@kingdomprep.org
