Afternoon of the Arts is a school-wide Talents for the Lord variety show on Saturday, May 6th at 3 pm.

If you would like to perform, please know the time commitment is minimal.  The audition is 5 minutes and you will be given a 10 minute time slot each week that works around your schedule!

We will have one hour-long dress rehearsal and that is it!

Come FIESTA with the current KPA Spirit Squad at our 2023 Mini Cheer Camp. We welcome children from Pre K through 5th grade to join us as we learn cheers, chants, a dance, and the basics of cheerleading. Camp will be March 28 and March 30 from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Then, on Friday March 31 at 2:00 our campers will join the cheerleaders at our Spring FIESTA Pep Rally and perform all that they have learned. Camp is only $40 and will include a T-Shirt to wear during the pep rally.

GOOD LUCK to these students that will be competing in the PSIA (Private Schools Interscholastic Association) district meet on Saturday, March 25th in Amarillo.

3rd grade worked hard on a writing project this week in History. Today they got to share their stories with their classmates! 

3rd grade PSIA team shirt day!!

Mad Scientists worked to create simple machines.

K-2 mad scientists participated in lemon science. Students created lemon volcanoes and then made fresh lemonade.

KPA Seniors supporting Mrs Hardesty .  She defended her dissertation on Friday.  She was amazing and will receive her Doctorate in Mathematics in May.

Kamber Henry—season best in 3200 for 3rd place
Karlee Flores—4th in 200; 4th in Triple Jump; 5th in 100 and 5th in Long Jump
Kalen Clark—personal best in 3200 and season best in 1600 with first in both

Max Crews—season best in the 800 to place 2nd and in the 400 to place 1st. Max also won
the High Jump
Lincoln Riddle season best to win the 110 hurdles and place 3rd in the 300 hurdles. He also
place 2nd in the Triple Jump and 6th in the Long Jump
Garrett Holtzman—placed 3rd in the High Jump and had a season best in the Discus to place
4th.
Jude Crutchfield—season best in the 400 to place 6th
Hogan Riddle—placed 6th in the 300 hurdles

Grammar School News

3rd grade tried their hand out at taking “vows of silence” like Martin Luther and other monks did from their Story of the World reading. They worked to communicate with partners without using their voices.

On March 3rd, K,1st and 2nd celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday in Story Time Comes Alive. They learned more about Theodore Seuss Geisel and read Happy Birthday to You by Dr. Seuss. Each grade did different activities based on Dr. Seuss' books.

Popcorn and Hot Lunch was so fun, and we didn’t want to create an extra burden on Mr. Larry! Here’s some sweet helping hands serving by cleaning up after their fellow students. 

Wyatt Grappe, 3rd grade, finished the wrestling season at the 2023 Texas USA Wrestling Youth State Championships. He wrestled 83 pounds in the Open.  He battled up the bracket and won 4th place.  

His team, Rezults Wrestling, placed 4th in the Open Division out of 114 teams in the State

Third grade CrAzY hair day! 

First grade CrAZY hair day! 

3rd graders presented their Weather Map projects this week. Students researched weather patterns from around the country and world!

3rd, 4th and 5th grade began to move through their reader’s theater script stations last week. They are working to choose their performances for the end of the year!
 

5th grade had their annual State Fair this week. The students spend months researching their chosen state, writing a speech, designing a float, and putting together food and items for their table to represent their state. It’s always such a fun day! 

The First Grade classes visited St Clair & Massey for a field trip learning more about teeth during their dental study. The students learned about eating healthy food, braces and teeth care! Thank you Dr. Massey.
